What You Are Purchasing

This is an on-site physical plant consulting appointment. An RCCS consultant comes to the property and walks the facility with you based on the agreed scope of the visit.

Common reasons for booking include fire pre-inspection readiness, RCFE or ARF pre-licensing preparation, physical plant correction follow-up, existing-facility review, room and layout concerns, resident-area setup, property readiness and preparation for a Community Care Licensing visit.

Rate: $250 per hour. Minimum appointment: 2 hours. Minimum service charge: $500.

On-Site Scope

What RCCS Can Review During the Physical Plant Visit

Fire Pre-Inspection Readiness

Walk the property before an official fire inspection and discuss visible fire- and life-safety readiness concerns, exit and egress issues, door conditions, storage concerns, evacuation-related physical conditions and questions that may need confirmation by the local fire authority.

Pre-Licensing Physical Plant Readiness

Review the home before a CDSS Community Care Licensing pre-licensing visit. We can discuss resident areas, room setup, physical safety, storage, accessibility considerations, property organization and overall readiness.

Resident Bedrooms & Room Setup

Review proposed or existing resident bedrooms, shared and private-room arrangements, furniture placement, room function, pathways and practical setup for a 6-bed RCFE, 4-bed ARF or other residential care setting.

Bathrooms & Resident Safety

Review resident bathrooms and bathing areas for practical safety, accessibility, fixture placement, support features, floor conditions and other physical plant concerns.

Doors, Hallways, Exits & Egress

Evaluate pathways, exit access, doorway conditions, hallway clearance, furniture placement, trip hazards and other visible conditions that can affect safe movement through the home.

Kitchen, Laundry & Utility Areas

Review practical use and organization of kitchen, laundry, utility and food-storage areas from a residential-care operations and inspection-readiness perspective.

Medication, Chemical & Supply Storage

Discuss how medications, cleaning products, hazardous items, sharp objects, resident supplies and operational materials are physically stored and separated inside the facility.

Common Areas & Resident Environment

Review living, dining and activity areas for practical resident use, safety, flow and overall facility readiness.

Exterior, Grounds & Property Access

Review relevant exterior areas, walkways, gates, yards, garages, entry points and other property-access concerns that may affect the facility environment.

Inspection Correction Follow-Up

If an inspector has already identified a physical plant concern, RCCS can walk the affected area with you, review the correction context and help organize practical next steps.

Existing Facility Review

Existing ARF and RCFE operators may use this service for a fresh review of the physical plant before an inspection, after operational changes or when the administrator wants another experienced set of eyes on the home.

New Property / Conversion Review

RCCS can walk a proposed residential care property and identify practical physical plant questions that should be resolved before moving further into setup or licensing.

Why Book an On-Site Consultant Instead of a Remote Call?

Some questions can be handled remotely. Physical plant issues often cannot.

When the concern involves a doorway, hallway, bedroom, bathroom, exit path, common area, storage space, garage, yard or the way the facility is physically arranged, seeing the property in person can provide far more useful context than photographs or a video call.

This service is specifically for clients who want RCCS physically at the facility.

  • Walk the home in real time with an experienced residential care consultant
  • Ask questions while looking at the actual condition or location
  • Identify visible concerns before an official inspection
  • Prioritize which items should be corrected first
  • Separate practical facility issues from matters requiring fire, licensing, contractor, architectural, engineering or legal confirmation
